I have been reading information on here for a few years and have finally decided to join the group. I bought my first Ranger, a 1990 2.9, about 8 years ago and have used this site countless times to work on it. I ended up needing a more reliable vehicle and bought a new car. The Ranger set in the in the yard for a few years being neglected. Recently I bought my son in laws 1994 3.0. After some much needed maintenance I got it on the road just long enough to blow the forward seal on the transmission. Thankfully my wife knows a mechanic that owes her a favor, so I'm getting it replaced very cheap.
While it's being worked on I decided to work on the 90 model. Now I remember why I quit working on it...lol. I pulled the bed off, pulled the sending unit, pumped the old gas out, wiped the tank clean, put some fresh gas in, changed out the battery with the old one from the 1994 model, said a prayer, and the truck actually fired up. So it looks like now I have two Rangers to tinker with now. Sorry for the long post, but it has been a very long day and looks like a few more to go until I get them both ready for the road.
