Greetings All,

Name is Vern. My 17 yr old son and I will be attempting an engine swap (2.0L carb'd out...2.3L EFI in), on a 1988 plain-jane Ranger 2WD with manual 5-speed.

This is a Father-Son effort to give him experience, and also satisfy a final project for his high school graduation in 2014...

I'm old-school, and haven't swapped an engine in over 30 years, when I was in high school! The equipment was all 1950's era...no EFI, computers, etc. All carbed and stock. So this will be a learning experience for me as well. :icon_confused:

I do have factory training in turbo charger repair (diesel FI too), but that was all from the late 1970's. I spent the last two and a half decades, making my living writing software. :icon_twisted:

Welcome! I'm also in WA and I think you'll find there are quite a few other WA members. Good luck on your project.

Welcome to TRS. You should be able to find all the answers you need here. There is the search button at the top in the dark blue header bar, and the tech library has a lot of good info at the top in the light blue header bar. Also check out the magazine as I've found info there that isn't anywhere else.
Good luck,

Richard
