- If i learned something new, it was a good day!
Hi Everyone!
My name is actually Shawn.
I'm a long-time bronco, BII, and ranger lover since the 70's - 80's. i bought my first BII (an 84' 4sp.) in 1992'. I also bought a 95 Ranger STX back in 1999 (which I still have and drive daily). I also picked up a rare 94' Xl Explorer, 4x4, 5 sp. with a manual t-case a few years back (for my wife, still a work in progress).
I've gotten many years of enjoyment abusing my old 84' BII, it survived several auto accidents (sort of, totaled 3 times), but I kept patching it back together
, until I finally broke my 4sp trans (for the 3rd and final time) back in 2009. Finally, I gave up on fixing it. So i used the remaining "good" BII parts to build a nice little BII for my son CJ.
More recently, I picked up an 86' BII for my other son KJ. We've been working on fixing this one up the past year or so. it has come a long way, but not quite there yet.
I've been using this site since at least 2005-ish, mostly on the tech library side if things.
Jim Oaks (himself) was kind enough to hook me up with some much needed Skyjacker drop brackets for my 95 ranger back in 2007 or so. Although i have acquired all the parts i need for it, i still need to pull the trigger in installing the lift on the Ranger yet, since i haven't broken anything on it, ever.
I do want to start documenting some of the work i put into these projects i'm working on. After reading through some of the builds hosted on this site, I think it is an appropriate place to offer up some of my hill-abilities and maybe help out some like-minded individuals along the way.
I really do appreciate some of the ideas and information I've been able to extract from this site over the years. I'm hoping offer up some inspiration for people in need and learn and be inspired (myself) from some of the skilled builders who are sharing their experiences with us.
So, Thank You Jim Oaks for creating this site! Also, thank You to all the staff for keeping it up and running!
As soon as i figure out how, I'll try to post some Photos of all my "junk" collection soon (no, not the pervy. kind) and I hope to see y'all on the trail some time soon too!
Thank You all for Reading my post!
