Hello everyone,

I just bought a 95 Ford Ranger Splash!

I had a jeep liberty that I hated so I sold it and got this instead. I know a few things about cars, but by no means I am an expert. Which is why I am posting a thread.

This will sort of be my project truck for a while. And hopefully I can learn a lot from this forum. One thing I have already found out is that the tech library is great to learn from.

The first thing I want to do is a fresh tune-up. What plugs and wires do yall recommend. The motorcraft wires or aftermarket? Are factory parts the way to go?

The odometer is not working. I have read that the worm gear on the odometer motor breaks. But I am also having issues with the temp gauge. The temp hand stays on the Cold during my entire drive. The little I know about cars tells me that the temp hand needs to be right in the middle of Hot and Cold. So I don't now if these two things are an electrical problem, or if I need to look into the odometer motor and also change my thermostat.

I also want to replace the headliner because it is falling to pieces. And I would like to swap out the seats.

What are good online parts/accessories stores you use to fix your ranger up?

Also if you look at the first picture, do you notice that the front sort of slumps to one side? Or is it just me? What would be the cause of this?

I would like to hear your comments or suggestions.

Thanks,

Jerry

Welcome from SE TN!

Factory Motorcraft is the only way to go, alotta the aftermarket parts don't seem to work real good with the Fords.

Speedo: Check the speed sensor in the center of the rearend, that's a common problem for speedo failure.

Temp: Could be the temp sensor. Is it blowin hot air or lewk warm? If it's not comin up to temp, then I'd say thermostat.

Seats: Explorer buckets will swap, but you do have to use the factory Ranger tracks, but they are a direct swap.

Aftermarket Ranger Parts: LMC truck.com

Hope this helps ya out some...........keep us posted on progress n pics of same!
