New owner of a 98 Ranger, was a one-owner vehicle.
After driving in the city I've realized the old 2.5 isn't gonna work in today's traffic.
And I need a fun vehicle anyway, it's been a long time. Wanting a V8, so here I am 🙋‍♂️

welcome to the site. this is definitely the one for v8 swap info

I thought you were in L.A. realizing that. When I drive the ranger to work, I cant keep up with traffic even with the speedometer well past 85. Then the drive home is stop and go traffic, which the clutch and brakes don't like. And sometimes I just dont have the acceleration to get past the idiot slow driver who decided to speed up right as I need to change lanes. This is even with the 4.0 OHV.

i have found the 3.0 is in the same boat. and you are not going to pass people quickly on single lane highways if they are going above a certain speed. but the truck is still a great truck for normal daily uses

The transmission ratios dont help either. 1st is too tall and 5th is too low. Needs a 6th gear, or 7th...
