Hello all at TRS!
I've been a member for a while here but never really had anything good to say until now ha. Well first off I'd like to say I love the site and have been creeping on the forums for a while.
Well anyway I am sorry to say that I just wrecked my ranger last night.
It was a 99 Sport 4x4, black, auto, ran like a champ with 126k. Was heading south back to school on the freeway in Wisconsin and truck took a SHARP left turn. Didn't have time to react, brake or countersteer, and ended up rolling a couple times into the northbound lane, finally resting on passenger side. Luckily it didn't hit anyone else and no one else hit me. My buddy and I both walked away without a scratch luckily. (Seatbelts kiddos!)
Not sure exactly what caused the abrupt turn, the roads were pretty darn clear at the time, no ice or snow. I'm leaning towards something like a ball joint or CV. Well the old Ranger took the roll surprisingly well, was able to start it right up (cuz its a 3.0 of course) and push it off to the side of the road with the help of some fellow good samaritan wisconsinites
Sorry I have no good pics to post, either before or after, but believe me if you saw it you'd never think it was flipped at 65. Seems to be mostly body damage, the passenger door getting the worst of it. Might even be borderline drivable, who knows. It'll be interesting to see what the insurance company wants to do with it, I'd like to keep it if possible and maybe part it out or sell it outright for the right fixer-upper buyer.
Had some good times with the truck, was always great to me up until that point, I'll sure miss it..... But who knows I'll probably try to find its replacement this summer hopefully, this time with a stick
