I just spent a bunch of time at work here typing in what I've been up to lately since I haven't been around here much (as if anybody's really interested anyway). Well it timed me out and didn't save any of it so now my whole f'in day is going to be sh!tty, lol. WTFE.
Anyway, Ranger was down for a long time with battery cable troubles and simple water pump gasket leak. It's back on the road now just like it didn't spend a year+ sitting in the driveway.
Time spent away from TRS ans been spent on "The Dock", MOPARTS and ebay looking for information and parts for THIS. My newest project. It's a grocery getter with a 440tnt (375hp/480ft/lbs) motor, 727 torqueflite transmission and a Sure-Grip rear axle. Power disc brakes and power steering. Those options alone make this a RARE car and worth way more than I paid for it. The power windows, seats, a/c front and rear and all the other goodies are just icing on the cake.
But the reason for this post is this, I have 180,000 miles on my Ranger as of today. I was interested in doing a 5.0 explorer engine conversion when it dies, but don't know if I want the headache and expense of doing it. I came across a 1996 4.0 out of a ranger with 60k miles for 300 bucks yesterday. A good deal. Should I get it instead and save the $$$ and time with this easy swap and spend the extra money/time on the Chrysler?
