hey i work at napa and noticed that we sell some hella head light conversions. my book doesn't say much but that it replaces a sealed beam headlight and blah blah blah. anyone ever heard of it? i'll look deeper into it tomorrow if things slow a bit

the ones that are H4? remember, those are a european code headlamp and are illegal in the u.s. for on the road. unless you don't care about blinding everyone.

They are DOT/SAE approved if I am not mistaken... otherwise they couldn't legally sell them here without saying offroad only.

And as for European code their lights are a shitton better then ours and get this they don't blind people either... they just now how to make it so you ahve more light without blinding people unlike the US where were just let people install HID's in any vehicle they can. :icon_thumby:

Oh and to answer your question, Napa does sell them and they will directly replace your factory 6054 sealed beam style lights in favor of a light housing where you can swap out just the light bulb (H4 lights) giving you an infinate number of options of light bulbs vs the few sealed beams available.

i thought they were h4's. but i also thought they said off road only. i'll look into it a bit more

i believe those are it. had a hard time figuring out if they would physically fit in the b2's headlight housing too..

i'll grab some more info today at work

Well your BII takes 6054 sealed beam lights which is like a 6x8 sized light adn those are a direct replacement.

its actually not those ones. it is also not DOT legal tho. they are h4's in the same housing. bright as all get out...

could a guy put a resistor or something inline and make them not as bright. and somehow hook it to a switch so you would have high and low beam in a way?

just brain storming here.

Well actually the lights themselves are not any brighter they just do a heck of alot better job of putting the light to the road so there is no need for a resistor...

Also the H4 bulbs are dual filiment bulbs so they have a high and low beam already in them and they plug directly into your factory harness.

Make sure you install a rely harness for your H4 it will take a load of your switch and be brighter.
I am getting a set this winter the E code ones.
I talked to the guy at rallylights he told me the E code will not blind people if you aim them, even with a high watt bulb. there breeze to aim really easy compared to the DOT code which is designed to scatter light. and DOT lights have be aimed in a shop to be 100% right. this why there are 3 studs sticking out of DOT headlamps.

hmmm that works..

i don't have my multifunction switch anymore. so i don't have dim's or brights. just dims. but i know which wire is the brights, so i could wire that into a switch and have both!

with a relay, one 30am bosch relay would be plenty for the both right?

looks like i can get into the hella's with the h4's for about 100 bucks with my napa discount!

The H4's aren't any different fron the sealed beams as they have the same wattage and everything.

Yeah I believe a 30Amp relay should work for both. I run 30 amp relays for a pair of 130w off road lights.

i was talking with one of my coworkers and napa sells a replacement lense assembly for the 6054 sealed beams. but its setup for bulbs. so a guy can get those assembly's and run 9004's or whatever. same three prongs and everything.

a bit cheaper than the hella's as well. i might try them out

Thy look like DOT, if thy are please don't run high watt bulbs in DOT headlamps thy will blind people.
