height restrictions...oops

i found out my truck is 6' 5" and 3/4 today from the ground to the top of the KCs. i took it trough the auto car wash today not thinking i payed my money and was sittin in line there was a honda crv inside in front of me i look up at the top of the garage door it says height limit 6'6" i look at the top of the crv seeing that the sprayer is about 5-6" above it and i know just my roof line is higher than it is so i'm like oh shit, theres 3 other cars behind me probly laughing. so i can't go any where so i drive real slowly into the door just missing it and releasing my breath the arm comes on and moves over my truck it just taps the KCs as it goes over and over my truck waiting on it to brake something but luckly it didn't but it definitly pays to know the height of your truck when its lifted i found out the hard way. i wish i could have gottin it on camera.

Neither of mine fit in the autos anymore. They don't fit in most parking garages either. I still want to go higher(only 3") with my Ranger when I do the SAS.......

Back when I had the roll bar on mine, the antenna mounted up there was a good way to tell. Also the stock antenna was a good indicator. I had some close calls though.

im at stock height, but i have a 4' whip antenna mounted on the cab. i try not to go anywhere lower than about 1/2 way down the antenna since i worry about braking the antenna or ripping the mount off my roof.

I'm screwed pretty much everywhere....my truck is like 6' 11". I scrape the rubber door seal on a 7' garage door.

My red ranger is currently at 8'8" on 235/75/15 total height with tires will be close to 10' . Chained down to my trailer it should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 12'8"-10"

When I had my lifted '73' F-100, it would clear the garage door just fine, normally. Come Winter, forgot about the snow build-up in front of the door that came off the roof and I cleaned off my top lights off the roll bar. Things you just don't think about.
