well im a happy with my conversion i have 83 ranger 2ws auto with 2.8 and just did the duraspark and still gots the feedback carb that is being replaced with a nonfeedback soon as i get clean it up and stuff but still its getting 16mpg and was around 7.5-8 before lol not huge difference in power but thats cause its still has the bogging rich feedback carb still onit.. i think im going too use 46# jets in new carb and see what it does.. Yay 2.8 are not all that bad after all
 
Cool it`s nice isn`t it. I have been keeping my vacuum guage connected in the cab. I was getting about 11-12 with the #50 jets and around 17 with the #46 jets. If I was you try the #50s first and see how she performs I dont imagine you would get alot better than 17-18 with a older motor unless you have real good vaccum mine sits at 16 steady at an idle probably rings. I dont have a lead foot and not too worried about running lean at WOT but if you like the high rpms it is something to consider in sizing your jets. I can live with 200 miles between fill up`s about 12 gallons.

The hardest part is ripping out all of the wires and crap associated with the EECIV. It's a couple hours work to do the whole thing, but worth every minute and every penny spent.

I push my peddle about an inch in the morning it starts I put it in gear it goes when I come to a light it idles when I punch it the tires chirp on dry pavement need I say more.
 
keep us posted on how things run when you get a new carb on it.

Im right now on the fence as to if i wana duraspark mine or if tbi is in store.- i already got the tbi junk, just need a fuel pump and a few odd and ends. oo decisions, decisions.
 
My pumps are from an 87 2.3 liter FI engine, truck had the set-up, and they work great with the TBI set-up, but I had to get an after market fuel regulator, it was $28 bucks on ebay non return style and it runs like a million dollars (check out my build thread theres a video on one of the current last pages of it running all finished up). My dads truck is next and if it isnt raining this Saturday we are going junkyrading to find him a TBI system and hopefully find a newer cab and bed for his truck. Dont worry there will be a build thread for his truck soon.
 
well i got my carb and it seems too run preety good thanks too kimcrb member he is very helpful, anyways I did my vacuum today and adjusted my mixture screws one at a time and got the highest reading i could get with gauge and im at 16 with the 50 jets still in place I may change them due too mpg is not too great but overall it runs preety good. Only thing now is theres a hesitation from idle too slight throttle but besides that its lots better.. Ive got the timing at 10deg at idle with the advance plugged up.

I just ordered my jets #46 hope it helps me out on gas.. yay paypal is too easy too use kinda scary could get u in trouble lol
 
Also try bumping your ign. up to 12*BTDC. The 2.8 likes that quite a bit. I ripped the jets out of the old feedback carb when I swapped over to the Dspark setup.
