so ok so im a ranger fan duh.. ill probably always have some sort of rbv. but i drove an 07 ford f 250 fx4 6 inch lift and 35's with the triton v-10 and 4.10 gears at the dealership today. now holy hell thats some kinda powerful truck.. i slid it sideways coming out of the parking lot and didnt even mean to. word of advise just because it has 375 horses and 457 ft pounds of rear wheel tourqe dont mean you gotta use it to scare the lunch out of salesmen. but damn was it fun

Excusrions are heavy.

Plus they usually have 3.73 gears.

2007 F250s weigh 5,504 to 6,495lbs, depending on options. A 2005 v-10 Excursion weighs 6,156 to 7,230lbs. The Excursion v-10 has 310hp and 425 lb-ft vs the 2007 F250s 362hp and 457 lb-ft. There could also be a transmission advantage for the F250. Some Excursions came with 4 spd autos and the F250 could have a 5spd auto or 6spd manual. Then you factor in a gearing advantage and yeah I believe the F250 could have kicked out sideways laying down some rubber. The F250 could have been modified too.

The '07 F-250 would have a 3 valve V-10... which was a pretty drastic change from the 2 valve that they put in Excursions. They never did drop the 3 valve into one.

Never heard the V-10 of any configuration called a dog though, a moderatly thirsty workhorse but never a dog. :icon_thumby:

So are you buying it?

i was actually looking at the new rangers they had and getting some small parts for my ford trac loc unit. it caught my eye so i figured what the hell why not? if i was finished with school and could justify buying it id love to have it. but we drove about 15 miles just cruisin(ok i romped on it a few times it had flowmasters) and it sucked a 1/8 of a tank down according to the guage. idk about that i like my ranger not drinking so much gas. i didnt pop the hood but the way it ran im sure it wasnt stock. banks chip at least. it wouldnt break them loose from a standing start everytime but lightly feather the brakes and stand on it and off it would go sideways in drive. my ranger i gotta drop to 1st gear and really stand on the brakes and gas to get it to roll out

i found the link to the specific truck im talking about http://www.carlblack.com/details.jsp?vehicleId=1b36aff44046381e0064e5b2ee5c91e3

fordman the great thing about a big truck like that is compared to what im used to driving around in/with its like trading the girl next door in for the head cheerleader. it aint always smart and its probably gonna end in disaster but for a weekend alone with it who gives a damn..

eww ugly wheels... it needs some alcoas and for that price, id buy a 6.0 stroker

Hows the mileage on one of those. Thats my dream truck but it must be a 4x4 diesel and a bigger lift .

Usually it seems most people say anywhere between 10-16 in a empty truck.

Makes me want to go test drive one just to see how she handles now. Might test drive a new ranger too!

wow looks amazing:drool:
