i never had to replace struts on any vehicle before, hopefully ya'll can answer a question for me. When replacing a strut on said liberty, do i need to get just the shock absorber part, the full shock and coil assembly, or the full assembly including the bearing plate, insulator and boot? thanks guys(and Gals):icon_confused:

well if your coil is fine and the shock part is the only thing thats bad you should be able to just buy the shock and put the coil on it. youll need a spring compressor though and its not something most people have because its an external spring compressor rather than an internal one like we would use on our ranger coil springs.

ok, thanks. that what i thought would be the case!

Monroe will make a quick strut for your liberty.

It includes the strut, spring and bearing plate already together and ready to install.

It's a more "do it at home" friendly option. Better than trying to compress a spring in your driveway or garage. Little dangerous that way.

Rockauto.com has the "quick struts" cheap. Although I would check out the Jeep forums and lift it while you are at it. Part numbers-a-plenty there.
