I change out my heater core went out Sunday coming back from deer hunting in southern ILL. Glad it wasnt cold, steam came out of the dash. I got regular foam tape to put on it but was wondering if it needed some tape that would withstand high heat or something. This stuff I put on was the kind that go on doors and windows. It was really easy to change only 4 screws and 2 hoses. Just dont want to do it again in the middle of winter, if the foam is going to melt or stink. :annoyed:

I doubt its anything special.. but you worry about the little things too- Im alot like that. :)

If I was to test it, first go at a piece with a heatgun/hairdryer.. if it passes that test move on to a lighter. Destructive testing is the best kind of testing! ;)

no smoke out of my dash yet just wanted to know before winter. Thanks for the idea didnt think of it.
