I am using the e5tz-18183a f-250 shock mounts and I trimmed the inner fender on both sides but on the passenger side it hits the heater box. I already mounted the drivers side and drilled the holes so I don't really want to change it. What can I do to the heater box to make it fit?

I believe the problem is I have A/C. Are A/C and non A/C heater boxes different?

I think they are different.
I've seen threads where they used a heat gun on the heater box to make room for a v-8 conversion.

I've checked those threads and I tried heating it but there is something inside. I might have to space the shock mount out 1/4"-1/2".

Picture of how its mounted? I had no issues with those mounts?!

Here you go...i'm thinking a body lift would solve the problem.

You have a few options...

-shim it out

- cut a skinny V in it and close the gap, then reweld it. (Plating over the cut is prob not nessasary considering its not a coilover...)

If those mounts normally clear like others say they should maybe your frame is slightly twisted... (Put an angle guage on both frame rails in the same spot and see if they are the same...)

I'm deciding to angle it out like the second option you listed. I just didn't want to cut up a nice clean painted piece of metal...because I still have EVERYTHING left on my truck to paint:annoyed:

Anyway, its not the heater box its the air conditioning unit crap. I want to keep the a/c system for now so I'll leave it alone. Most people don't have a/c.

Im trying to keep mine in and its deffinatly hard to chose to do so because of its... un-needed function while its seems to be getting in the way every corner i turn lol

Look at the brite side... if you have to paint everything anyway it will be like 1% more... and all of the painting stuff is out anyway lol.

Did you see if your frame was twisted? Its got to be something, your cab could also be off center...

Yeah I hate painting because every time I paint something it scratches off so easy...not sure what I'm doing wrong.

But, I will check my frame. I've been underneath my truck for several hours and the only thing thats bent is the transmission cross member and all the skid plates...lol

I used my angle finder and they were both within 1 degree of each other. I don't know if something is actually wrong or its just the a/c or if mine is in a different spot. (like I suspect!)

Well it looks like your just guna have to modify it slightly...

Just sand the stuff you want to paint real good clean it, prime it, paint it. And read the lable on the paint to see whats best... lol

I just modified the mount and I am satisfied with the results.

I usually wire wheel the part then clean the part with alcohol and then I use primer and paint the part at least 5 times and it flakes.

Sound like your not appliing the coats in the proper intervals of time... read the paint can lol... they also make special cleaner for use befor painting, you can prob pick it up cheap at walmart or home depot...

How bout some pics of what you did?:icon_bounceblue:
