Can anyone give me a hint of why the heat stays on in my 1998 2.5L? The blower is off the controls are set to off and temp control to cold, but hot air comes out of the bottom vents. It's a regular cab and gets hot quick. :c-n:

Check and see if the vacuum line has come off the heater control valve, located on one of the heater hoses a little ways from the firewall.

After checking the vacuum line at the heater valve also check the other vacuum connections behind the glove box. Also fords are notorious for the blend door motor going out, they are cheap made IMO and go out frequently i learned this from working at a Ford dealership. The blend door motor is also basically behind the glove box which is very easy to check by turning the temp. control from cold to hot with the truck running and listen for the blend door motor to move.
