I dont have ac. My headlights didn't turn on one day and noticed that 2 fuses had blown. I changed the fuse to my headlights and than the fuse to my foglights but it blew, I stuck another in and electrical smoke started to come from, "what i believe to be" the Day light running module(located behind the front bumper mounted on the front bumper frame. This module has quite a few wires running into it, so im thinking this might lead to the blower not working.

I disconnected it and changed the fuse. I than checked my lights and they work. But now i dont get heat blowing in, I only get heat after the engine has been running and i can change the temperature, but the Blowing speed does not work.

Im wondering if i should change this module, but I'm worried since it is a dealership part and not many 2001 Ford trucks are in the wreckers, that it will just smoke again.

I also noticed some of the bluish/white corroding dust in one of the Pin wires in the connector colour Green/yellow.

any thoughts. This is for a 2001 V6 3.0 2wd 5spd Ranger. No a/c or cruise

Thanks
Mike

I changed the resistor and the connector to it, i have a new blower motor, and picked up a new daylight running module that sits underneath the driver side bumper (which is where the electrical smoke is and has weird burn marks on the connector still.) All my fuses are good. I can't find the relay area your talking about behind the passenger light so im thinking it was relocated to the main fuse box.

Mines a 2001 ford ranger. and i can control temp but i get no speed control.

thanks
Mike

Anyone have any suggestions? i still dont have the blower motor running. Does the module underneath the driverside bumper have anything to do with it? Everytime i plug it in i get smoke from it, it seem's this would be the problem but i've tried a replacement module but nothing has changed... a bit of corrosion in there but tried cleaning it, maybe i'll replace it.

Was hoping someone else had a suggestion. Those relays from those link dont seem to be on my 2001.
