Headliner replacement with pics

Glassed the back of the headliner, then flipped it over removed the foam and realized just how bad the board was. Went ahead a lay a thick coat of resin to the foam side of the board. It hardened extremely well. Today I'm going to bondo a few bad areas and sand the whole thing down smooth. Then I'll be able to apply the foam and cloth. I'll try to add some pics of the progress so far.

I've done the same as you are doing . . and the resin worked well. You should be OK.

While I'm at it I decided to pull the armrest thing from under the rear windows and recover them too. I think they turned out pretty good.

Last coat of filler has been sanded. Never realized this was gonna be such a big job. And maybe I'm putting too much into it. But tomorrow should bring foam and material. Here is a pic after skimming and sanding. All smoothed out now!

It's back in. It was A LOT of work, but overall I think it was worth it. What do y'all think?

Looks great. I plan on doing this to my 84 B2 in the future, kind of need to worry about getting the exterior fixed first due to rust issues.

You have a newer B2, so mine may be simpler to remove and re-install as I only have the one dome light. Did you completely remove all the trim pieces or just take out enough screws to give you access to what you needed to remove and re-install?

I just removed enough trim to get it out. Didn't really want to have to pull everything.

Yeah, no need to pull everything for the headliner. But I'll be pulling everything soon so I can do something to the floor. Not sure if I'm gonna bedline it or what, but I gotta do something.

The previous owner of my B2 removed the carpet so I just have a bare metal floor, I'm going to have to figure mine out as well, are you sure you don't have my Bronco 2's mess just a different color LOL. I know mine has been a very time consuming project so far and I've only had it since last November. I at least can say its in running and driving condition now. Got to tackle my rear main seal leak here pretty soon though.

I like the camo headliner look, might do something similar, or a wildlife scene, haven't really decided. Have to keep something close to the interior color as its tan.

My B2 has these pieces missing, Does anyone know what they are called so I can start searching for new ones somewhere? I like your idea of doing them in camo. I am going to replace the headliner fabric on mine and go with black, to acent my brown interior.

Opps, pictures didn't go through, but they are those pads that run on the sides under the rear windows by the seats through the back.

Bedliner will be rough to the touch. You can do a full mat as well.
