I went to Joann's fabric here in Austin, TX and they have headliner material on sale! They had black, charcoal, grey, and beige. It's identical to headliner with the soft weakass fabric covering the itty bitty thick foam.
It was something like 5-6' wide and $13 a yard. Basically a yard and a half was ample for my headliner. They had headliner adhesive there as well but I'd go with the 3M Classic 77 or stronger.
Spray both sides, apply. Easy as hell. Even if you accidently bend the headliner the creases don't show on installation.
Anyway, thought I'd share the exciting news.
