so i read in the tech library about polishing them with chrome cleaner. seeing as i didnt have chrome cleaner i decided i would try my mothers mag and aluminum polish. i was completely surprised as to how clean it actually got them. i went around and did all of the rest of my family's cars too. i have to say the lights probably give off at least twice as much light. i was pleasantly surpised at this little trick. thanks TRS

Got pics?
my brothers old mitsu mirage had the headlights soo yellow it looked like sick eyes :bad:
i sanded em with 1000grit sand paper and then polished em with some rubbing compound and it worked good.

no. i forgot to snag a few pics. i could get a pic of what they look like now and maybe find a picture of before hand

yeah I've done both and wetsanding was much faster and cleaner results lol. Basically any cutting compound or paste will work, even baking soda toothpaste lol. The important thing is to SEAL them when your done! Otherwise you will have to re-do them in a month or so! If you don't seal them then at least wax them so the clear lasts longer.

ps i use wet sanding then finish with polish then seal and wax and they last a loooooooong time!

i didnt even take them apart. i just did the outside. ill go get a picture and you guys can compare

this was the day i brought it home. you can see they are yellow and cloudy

I just use aluminum wheel polish for light oxidation. Dab a little onto a clean shop rag and lay into the elbow grease.

thats what i did. i'm happy with the results. my brother bought new headlights last year but never put them on and now he is getting projectors so im gonna take the new ones and put some silverstars in there
