I thought I'd put my $.02 worth in here hoping it helps someone NOT to have to go through what I've been through so far with headlamp replacement.
I bought a 2010 4x4 with high mileage recently and it needs replacement headlamps. I researched the issue and decided on a set of TYC lamps. I ordered the first set that was advertised as CAPA-certified. They arrived and were NOT certified, so I set up a return. In the meantime I ordered another set. They arrived and were as crappy as the first set.
On both pairs, one of the bulbs would not seat into the housing properly, and on one set the lamp fit so loose in the opening that it was sure to leak water.
Interestingly, examining both sets side by side, there was ZERO difference in them. They had identical markings all over them. The ONLY DIFFERENCE was that one set had a box label with a -00 ending part number, a manufacture sticker with the same part number as the box, and no CAPA label. The other set had a label with a -09 ending part number, a manufacturer label showing the same part number, but with CAPA labels.
From what I can tell, they just ship the same crappy product with two different sets of labels, charging two different prices for the same crap product. Needless to say, BOTH sets are being returned and my search for a decent replacement lamp continues...
Cheers!
