okay so i was wondering what is brighter the 9007 or the h4 bulbs, and am i right in assuming that the h4 bulbs fit the 9007 harness? if not is there a brighter bulb that fits it? like the h7 or h"something"

I was thinking about getting some philips bulbs because i have seen some reallly good reviews on these. the truck they are going on is a beater i use back in the woods and the bulbs don't need to be street legal. what are the brightest bulbs i can get for under 100$?

also i heard it was a good idea to get a heavier duty wire harness, they are pretty cheap, anybody have experience and some info on this?

I just replaced the bulbs in my 2002 Ranger with Sylvania Silver Star Ultravisions (I think that was the name) and the difference was pretty noticeable. I was leary about the claims made by the company, but all in all they are brighter than standard 9007's. Without upgrading to HID you really can't go wrong for just under $50.

My HIDs were only $60, a set, shipped.

My brother has those new crazy bright silverstars, they are really bright, not nearly as bright as my 6k HIDs. But at $50 a set, I'd spend the extra $10 for the HIDs.

FYI: My HIDs came fromhttp://www.vvme.com

Urban... let me know how they hold up. How was install? Availability of bulbs? Keep me informed.

the silver star ultras are very bright bulbs. my buddy has them and i was surprised at the difference but im not sure how they would compare to aftermarket HIDs. they are brighter than the stock HIDs in my dads navigator though i think.

I've read feedback from buyers of DDMTuning and VVME HID kits. Both groups seem satisfied with the product. The install should be very easy - the ballast basically just plugs into the existing wiring socket and then connects to the replacement HID lamp.

Not a chance. Silverstars are good bulbs - I use one on my bike. They're not even close to the light output of true HID, though. A typical 55w halogen is anywhere from 1000-1500 lumens. A 35w HID kit should put you over 3000.

I wrote up on my HID install, go back a page in the 'info for tech library' forum. My install is different from those using oem housings. But still it's a basic plug n play setup.

Mine are holding up really good, no issues at all, and they are bright as all hell.

That's a good write up - I'm surprised I hadn't seen it before. What projectors did you use? I wasn't clear on where they came from.

maybe i''m looking in the wrong place, but the bi-xenon hid conversion kit looks like it is 78.99 a kit

okay i just ordered a bi-xenon hid kit off of ebay for 56.99, hopefully it works well, i'll hopefully get it in a few days and i'll take some pictures

Did you order it from a US based seller?

i don't know the ebay store is great outdoors equipments, and item location says "Warehouse Near You!, United States" but i couldn't really understand the lady on the phone when i called to see when it was being shipped out, but they use US 2nd day air shipping

They came from Ebay, $110 shipped. Actually a pretty good product, don't leak or nothing.
