I love glass headlamps because grime takes forever to build up and become noticeable, what do you guys use/do to maintain the clarity that comes with brand new glass bulbs? And how do you elongate the time necessary between cleanings?

Well I have 7 years on my current glass lenses doing nothing but washing the truck from time to time. So far they are as good as the day they were new.

My 99 Ranger head lights and all lenses look new still. I bought the truck July 99. I have never replaced a single bulb on this truck. I changed the third tail light out for a new LED one some years ago and gave the original to a buddy for his son's Ranger. All my off road lights and fog/driving lights I added back in 2001 are still working and looking great. Never replaced a bulb in them either.
My 89 BII I had to replace 2 head light bulbs in 5 years and 1 right back up light twice in 3 years. That is the only vehicle I have owned that I had to do that to. I am really proud of my Ranger. It gets washed once a week and waxed every 2 months.
My wife's Corolla and he FJ had to have head lamps replace twice and 1 rear back up light on both of them in 4 years. Not too bad for all the vehicles we own and have owned.
