I have a 1994 ranger step side with a complete 2003 running gear under it. What is the best set of headers to put on it? It has the V6 with a 5 spd trans. Any help would be great.:icon_welder:

JBA makes the best headers for these trucks, unfortunately they're also expensive ($700+)

I bought a set of mac long tubes and off road h pipes for my 3.8l mac has awesome v6 stuff. with flow 40's they sounded badass. However anything obd2 is not good with offroad h pipes unless your gonna use a catted version or tune out the o2's with mil deletes. they also have shorty headers. If you need info performance wise for v6's check out the mustang sites 3.8mustang.com and v6power.net also supersixmotorsports. none of these boards are ranger boards and non are competition for us, so enjoy. If you have any other questions pm me, or any of the guys. Also scroll down and look at the other sections for the v6 motors.

I finally got some pictures of my truck up loaded. My truck has the 3.0 in it. Hope this helps any. Thanks

Forgot to mention I paid something like 380 for the mac headers, in order to bolt up to the factory y pipe and cats, you need the shortys, I personally liked the long tubes, more torqey when used with other mods. But required the h pipe.

Assuming OP means he has a 2003 4.0 SOHC engine, JBA makes the only headers for that engine.
Dudes on the Sport Trac site who have installed them report negligible increases in power and mpg. Not that the headers are bad, just that the stock manifolds are pretty good.
