I am wanting to make a headache rack for my truck mainly to protect my window since my truck is a worker but I would like it also to hold my lights I have some bed frame steel angle iron to use and the mesh to put I. It just didn't know if anyone had ever built one and had plans or ideas to help me out on building and attaching it to my flare side bed thanks

Just in the process myself of doing the EXACT same thing.... I guess about 2 weeks or so, wana wait for some pic's ? of mine when done ?

I'm doing 1-1/2" box tubing and a set of side "wings" (more like those fiberglass back sections but in steel), light rack will be just at roof height (less wind resistance) with the lamps more for rock climbing than front lighting, I'm also doing a set that point rearward for "work area" (do lots of wood for heating).

If you finish first, I would love to see your version as I am open to ideas myself.

Cool sounds great the rear facing lights sound like a great idea I myself cut n sell firewood and the work lights might be a great addition thanks any good ideas on securing to box/ bed

Bed frame angle iron is spring steel and doesn't weld together well. The welds break very easily. Perhaps there is a way of heat treatment to fix that but I don't know. I would suggest 1x1 or 1x2 box tube, if you can make it so it slides into the rail pockets that is a much stronger setup than just screws. I have a ladder rack that uses angle on the rails and the pockets are cut out so the rack slides thru the rails into the pockets. I can and have tied chain to the rack to pull people out of the ditch. One time I pulled the rack off the other truck....it was just screwed on....ooops.
