All right, i have a 93 ranger. when i got the truck it had a working am/fm radio. i pulled it out and got reddy to install my new head unit and now it no power at the constant power wire. i cheecked all the obivos things and cant figure out whats wrong.
any way now im thinking about just running some wires to the battery. i dont feel like chasing down the problem because i dont know how much longer i will keep the truck. i was wondering what gauge wire should i use? what size fuze? or is this just a bad idea all together ??? thanks

only if you only wire it to the raido. and not both.

16-12 really anything u might have laying around and a 15amp fuse

Yeah, Thats how i did my truck.

Im a Bic man myself.

So i just ran the wires from the lighter to my radio. :D

My Clarion needs a direct 12 gauge power wire from the battery. Of course it is fused. I just got 12-2 landscape wiring and grounded directly to the negative terminal to keep the same gauge as power. Plus I'd rather not guess trying to find a solid ground behind the head unit.
