I had a jvc single DIN stereo in my truck and I got a Double DIN stereo I was trying to put in and when I was cutting wires and splicing my adapter to it I ended up with a couple wires I didnt know what to do with.

I took a picture and labeled the wires with what they say.
I dont know how readable it will be.

Any info you guys have is appreciated.

Dash light - Illumination. Dims display when headlights are on
12V Batt constant & Batt + - Constant 12V positive wire
Ignition & Acc - 12V positive that is hot only when ignition is on
Chassis Ground & Ground - Hook to ground wire
Antenna - Only used if you have a power antenna

That is all I can make out or identify. They really should be pretty self explanatory. Most of the colors should line up with your wire harness.

Edit, you are trying to wire those two together....

Here's the combos:

Ignition/Acc
Chassis Ground/Ground
12V battery constant/B+
Dash light/That wire all the way on the left if it is orange
Antenna - Not used
SCV - Not used
Brake - Not used

I think that should put you in the ballpark

Thanks TimV. That got me hooked up and rollin.

One other thing though, its supposes to play DVD's, but when i put one in it says "caution: for your safety do not watch while driving". But even when I'm sitting still it wont play a movie. Im assuming that wire that was labeled 'Brake' had to be wired to the parking switch or something? But my 5 speed doesnt technically have a 'park'. so... could I just hook up the brake wire with something under constant power, like the power antenna?

Ground the e-brake wire and that will correct that issue.

yea ground it, that usually works. +1

So I can just take the 'Brake' wire on the harness and attach it to the ground wire on the harness?

yup It basically tells the head unit that your parked with the e-brake on therefore unlock the dvd feature, with it grounded it tells it that it is always that way. *profit*:icon_thumby:

Alright well I got everything hooked up now and it seemed to be working fine. I hadnt driven at night before last night with it and realized that whenever I turn my headlights on the screen goes blue and says "Back" in the upper right corner.

Anyone know what wires could cause this issue?
