Hey guys,

Just looking for a quick answer... Can you see the head casting ID without removing anything?

Where is it located?

'92 4.0 OHV 2WD

I have a set sitting on my bench, when i get home tonight i will check for you, if i can remeber correctly i think they are on top of the heads, you need to take off a valve cover to see them. is there a reason you need to know?

Awesome thanks! No real reason in particular so if you don't get to it no sweat.

I been having some weird issues with my truck I bought 2 years ago. Mostly just a sanity check that they are the originals and someone somewhere along the lines didn't say, throw some '95+ heads on. Haha. Just for my own sanity

Under the valve area is a 91, don't know if it is of any reason. However, if you look down between the 1st and 2nd spark plug there is what looks like 90TM (then a bunch other digits) I know that 90TM is a number from the block and parts, so look down there and see if you can see it. these come off a 91 truck. 92 should be the same i would imagine.

I can't see anyone changing the heads, but you never know.

cheers

^yeah, the whole "you never know" case is what's making me just wanna verify haha

If you had 95TM heads on an older short block you'd have cracked them by now.

Have you ever or known someone who put 95+ heads on a pre 95 block? I've always thought it would be a neat mod if I was in the situation for head replacement, but seems like its a one of those "looks better on paper" mods.

Judging by the cracked head remark, your not a fan?
