Hello again! Been about 10 years since I've been on here, when I sold my previous Ranger. Just picked up a 2002 Ranger for a great deal recently. However, the hazards won't work.

When the switch is down, all the turn signals work correctly. When the switch is up, turn signals do not work at all. Checked fuses, and swapped the relay, with no change.

Is the switch bad? Or are there other things to check before replacing the switch?

I don't think the turn signals should work with the hazards ON... brake lights should still work however.

Sure sounds like a switch to me.

Multi switch blues...

I would agree, multi-switch is the issue

Got it solved today.

Upon further investigating this multifunction switch, I wanted to see if I could swap to a different one. I am not a fan of how the 2002 stalk goes down instead of up. So I found out the other ones are plug and play, headed to the junkyard and found a damn near new looking one on a 98(?) F150. Certainly newer than the truck(the markings on it are pristine white, and it has a Ford stamp). Pulled it, and went to put it in my Ranger. Turns out, it wasn't actually my switch. The tabs that hold the wires into the connector had broken off on 2 of the wires, one of them being the power to the hazards. I popped a fuse getting the switch out, which is what gave it away.

Put it back together, making sure my wires were fully inserted on the new switch, and everything is good again. And now the stalk is in the correct position, going up instead of down.

Good stuff (y)

Yes, I did read the F150 on some years was interchangeable with Ranger multi-function switch, and is at a better angle
