I just bought a 1984 Ranger for $740 with a bad 302 motor, I took it out and rebuild it. The Ranger had some cheap homemade motor mounts and frame plate. So I bought the Trans depot motor kit, But when I had them on the frame and drop the motor in and bolted on the transmission. The motor is about 1-2 inches to forward and won't go in the slot. I don't know if I have to move the motor and transmission back? Then it might be too close to the firewall. I believe that I have a FMX transmission? Any help will be appreciated Thank you.

I know on my Duff mounts I had to drill new holes for them. They were of just a tad from dropping into the stock locations. Mine is also a 84 but I used a C-6. Let some others chime in though. Its been a while since I did my swap (about 15 years now).

Did you had to move the transmission crossmember? I have to drill holes also for the motor mount plates because our truck is a pre-92 model. Thanks for helping.

I had to build my own cross member. Dana 20 T-case. I had to use an early Bronco cross member that was heavily modified. Sorry no help there.
