Have no o/d

I bought this truck knowing it had some issues, but given it has a remanufactured motor in it with less than 9,000 miles I was willing to make some repairs. This one has me at a loss.

I bought it knowing it didn't have O/D. I go through the older gentlemans receipts that I bought it from and he has had the transmission rebuilt 2x's.
1st rebuild @ 103,000 the second at 152,000 (it now has 163,000 and warranty expired on rebuild). Both rebuilds were done because of a loss of O/D according to the original owner.

Other than not having o/d it shifts through gears great. I have gotten the speed sensor code 2x's p1501, but I doubt that has anything to do with the o/d issue.
Is there something I can do or have done to get o/d back for good without this being a continuing problem?

Care to tell us about the truck itself, not just the lack of overdrive?

Uncertain of which tranny but assume it is the 4R44E

Ah, much more helpful

And overdrive is the only thing that doesn't work?

You have a 4R44E. I looked at the clutch and band chart and if OD is the only thing not working I would have to say that shift solenoid C is not turning on, or it's passage is not allowing enough flow to apply the band. Did either of these rebuild include valve body replacement?

Yep, O/D is the only thing not functioning correctly. No flashing o/d light. As for the valve body in previous rebuilds. I have no idea.

If you have the receipts you should be able to go to the shop where it was done and find out.

From the receipt:
Master Kit
Torque Converter
EPC Solenoid
Input Sensor
Filter
2- Bands
2- Servos
VB Kit
MLP
Solenoid
Bushing Kit

Total: $1,991.65

I would kinda like to know what all is included in the valve body kit.
