Has anyone tried the do-it-yourself "spray on" bedliners?

Not sure if larger companies such as Rhino Liner does that.

Rhino Liners DO come with a warranty, although I can't remember whether it is limited, or lifetime. I had one sprayed in my F150. Less than 90 days later, several large chunks flaked off.

Wow that hootus thing was the funniest thing I've read in years. I'm still wiping the tears away.
I've wanted to do the floor in the 'pony for years but, can't afford the pro stuff and was leary of trying the brush on stuff.
Good topic.

on my truck it worked amazingly well, make shure to clean extremely. With vasaline or diesel fuel works well. After 10 years, the sun burnt the paint off, but the rubber bits stayed, just spray painted the spots that were worn!

I have been threating to have one sprayed in the F-250. I have a plastic liner in it now, but when I installed my fifth wheel I had to cut two chunks out of it to put the rails in. Now each year they fill up with leaves and pine needles. Last fall I pulled the toolbox out, the bedliner out and sprayed it with a hose. It looks just the same now as it did before I did all that work.

I was quoted $449 for my 6.75' bed.

I did the Duplicolor spray-can liner and it looks good, but holds up only to a lightduty beating (it looks good on my rear bumper too!). My uncle has a Line-X I think in his truck that that thing has taken a BEATING!!! He works at a wrecking yard, so it has all kinds of heavy metal stuff in the back (engine blocks, trannies, differentials, and all kinds of stuff that bounce and roll around) that beat the crap out of the bed all the time.

If I had to do it agian, I would get a Line-X/ Rhinoliner in a heartbeat!

my old boss had his 84 chevy (rebuilt from the ground up) rino lined on the bottom 24" all the way around the cab and fenders(flatbed). the whole right side pealed off after only 2 years. the shop that lined it said that it was a bad mix but it was clearly a bad prep job that they did. thats what makes it or flakes it... a damn good prep job!!!

i used the duplicolor kit from walmart......i then used a couple of cans of it from wal-mart to do the floor of my truck......its all working good for me

ive used the duplicolor bedliner... it comes out soo much better when its sprayed on.. a bit more durable an its thicker.. ive got my bumpers/an rockers coated.. so far so good.

Keep in mind, there are professional companies that spray bedliners besides Rhino and Line-X. I had my bed sprayed by Stead Fast Custom Linings. I got an over-the-rail liner and it cost $375, although I had a $50-off coupon. It's a very tough and good-looking liner. Highly recommended.

I've sprayed ALOT of the do it yourself stuff. Beds, rocker panels, Bronco tubs and seven complete exterior jobs. You truly get what you pay for. While the do it yourself stuff is OK, it doesnt hold a candle to professionally applied stuff like Line-X. All my trucks (that I care about) get Line-X, even though I could do it my self for much cheaper. It just holds up way better. Heres a couple pics of two completes I did, so you know I'm not talking out my ass.

your two ranger pictures that were sprayed, look pretty nice... did you spray these, yourself...

if you sprayed them, yourself... what brand product did you use, and how much acetone do you use, per can, so it sprays well... does it require using any kind of a special spray guy, when applying...

if you had your two ranger pictures professionaly sprayed, instead of doing it, yourself... what did it cost, and what's the name of their spray on product...

Those were both sprayed by me. I used SEM truck bed liner with no acetone and sprayed it out of a standard Schutz undercoating gun.
