Okay, I'm at my wit's end here! Damn near ready to just throw a carb'd setup in here at this point:annoyed:.

At any rate my basic info I've got an 87 Ranger that had the 2.3L in there, it's now got a 5.0 from a 92 or 93 grand marquis. I've got both of the EVTM's. Now the GM EVTM has the actual pin for pin codes in the back and I've had to piece the Ranger's together (still a lot of pieces missing). The problem is, that when I pull the plugs off the ranger's harness and go to splice them to the 5.0's that a lot of wire colors don't seem to match what the EVTM's saying.

Should I just put the harness's back together the way they were and cut the damned things right at the computer and splice them that way? Thanks for any help and to listen to me vent!!

You might like this idea better...you can use a 2.9 harness, splice in 2 additional injectors plugs, extent 2 or 3 wires, and plug in an F series truck ecu, and your done...

I do like that better, much better in fact!! Off to the junkyard! Thanks!!

got 2.9 harness,is it that simple to run efi, also gor a chance of getting 88 injector loom would this plug straight into 2.9 loom, believe its speed density loom and guess thats what we are talking about, also believe we can convert to maf at later date.reason im asking is im in england and thinks can be an arse to get hold off over here, probaly have to get a ecu from over there may find one here fingers crossed

The reason why its that simple is the truck's ecu is batch fire, not sequential fire like the mustang setup. I'm not sure if the injectors harness will plug to the 2.9 harness (I doubt it will)...

thanks for reply, might get it and compare anyway its only cheap so worth a shot, sods law month ago there were 5 efi inlets with throttle bodys on ebay over here now not 1
