hard shifting

Truck is a 2001 supercab 3.0 flex fuel auto 4x2. when im driving my truck shifts a little high and it almost seems to lunge into gear. Do these transmissions have adjustable bands or what would be the likely cause for this?

The bands aren't adjustable that year.

How is the fluid? Level and condition. Do you have any leaks? Almost sounds, at first glance, like low fluid.
