A couple years ago when I was putting in a new clutch, I accidentally left out the neutral pin when I reinstalled the tranny. Instead of taking the transmission back out and figuring out why it wouldn't go into gear I just pushed harder (hopefully I've gotten a little smarter since then). Anyway, I replaced the pin and put the tranny back in and things were good with the exception of shifting into first (and sometimes other gears from a dead stop). The problem I have is that from a stop it will not shift to first until you go up into 3rd and then go back to first. Once you get it into first, everything shifts fine. Pull up to a stop light and put it in neutral, get ready to do the 3rd to 1st gear shift again. I figure I bent something in the shift linkage or something. I've been driving it like this for a few years, but I'd like to fix the problem if it's not to expensive. Anybody got any thoughts on what I might have done and how big a deal it might be to fix?
