My replacement Yukon goes in this weekend, as well as greasing all joints/topping off fluids/etc. I'm in the process of buying stock chevy stubs from a guy on Pirate. I'm hoping those come in before the trip so I'll have spares for everything but my long side inner.

I don't know.

Spraying the new paint on the truck this week. Got concerns on how long it takes before it's not really brittle anymore. Hate to rub the paint off before it's had time to really harden.

The other issue involves some software I want to get for the site before the end of the month. I'm watching the fundo-meter real close.

The wife wants to go. She's complaining that we haven't gone offroading anywhere this year.

So, I don't know. It may come down to a last minute decisions that involves $$ and what the weather is going to do. It's getting pretty damn cold at night.

This has been my biggest obstacle this year...

We did it last year, I don't care who you ask, it was cold that night. I'm not looking forward to it, I may end up sleeping in the Dodge. At least I'll be out of the wind moreso than being in a tent...

Using the colder weather is NOT an option for an excuse my friend. You're the one that organized this bad boy, and you are well aware of the temps late Oct/early Nov.

I see pics of guys campin on the 'con, waking up to snow cover. I think we'll be alright

This would only be the 2nd, as far as I can remember. And thats counting the one back in March that everyone else (including yourself) backed out on first. But whatever, you guys can think whatever you want, I'm still planning on going.

extra blankets or a fat chick is all you need for camping in colder weather

sleep on a thick blanket you lose most your heat to the ground and if you have electric bring a heating pad

My truck was lacking a trac bar, coil buckets, shocks, etc at that date. I've tried to more than make up for it since its been complete though .

Nothing worth pissing about, we're wheelin next weekend, and its gonna be fawkin awesome.

Curl - I've got an air mattress, I hope that'll keep the majority of the ground temp off of me. Dead air does have one of the lowest thermal conductivities of the traditional types of insulation. I'll air it up rock hard to put as much air between me and the ground as possible . I'm pricing electric blankets today, dunno if I'm gonna get one or not, but it won't hurt looking.

I just got off the phone with Attica Family Campgrounds. I've got site 37 reserved for Friday and Saturday nights. If anyone wants to call them for info or what not, it seems the best time is after 3pm central time (they're in the eastern time zone).
