Ya know... the first Gen Bronco became unreachable to me. I never was into the full size versions or the Bronco II. Then it hit me one day looking at the rigs on here and the Bronco Coral. I'm glad i got in when I did.

The view of the Volvo's fins from the mirrors is iconic. I came close to buying an 1800E in the late '90s, I intended to put an Oldsmobile 215 engine in it. Had the car in my driveway for a month, had the engine in my basement. Plans changed, we moved, sold the engine, gave the car back to the shop. Back in the day it was common to put Ford 289s into those 1800s, there was even a how to manual in print.

Back in September an auction just two miles behind my house had a red Ford Ranger GT, in unbelievable condition, come up for sale. I was keen to bid on it knowing how collectible they are. But, at the same time I discovered my 1984 Bronco II (thanks to a detour no less). And I gave up bidding on the Ranger GT for the Bronco II. I spent half the money anyway. It ended up selling for $2k.

I don't regret it. I so wanted a much older truck to learn about anyway. And I always had a soft spot for the Bronco II.

Glad I got rid of my Bronco 2 then, before the insurance companies catch wind of them becoming "collectors" items, and jacking up the insurance LOL.

Kind of miss my 88 Bronco 2, but not the trash A4LD LOL. Most of the ones I find now are purely trashed, broken down far beyond regular maintenance, and far from worth fixing or buying in the first place.

My 87 Ranger's wiring harness melted and ended up selling it for $1500 to a guy that wanted the engine for his Ranger, and transmission for another truck....miss my Ranger too, but again, everything you find now is either junk, or needs far too much work to make it worth buying....even the newer ones...that and ridiculous prices attached now too.

I dunno, my Comanche is pretty well rare and sought after but my insurance is just as cheap as my '93 Grand Cherokee. Maybe the only "collectible" Jeeps on their minds are the original CJs and Wagoneers/Gladiators.

I'd actually like to get coverage that is price aware of all the special mods done to my truck, but probably couldn't afford it if someone did offer it on a daily driver.

Kinda just finished my 2wd bronco ii at the moment. Hopefully they go up in value. I put more into it then I wanted to. But then again it came out ok I guess
