My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
Baller. I wonder how one of those engines would work in a Ranger? I also like the lexan hood at the end showing the engine.

comes up all the time.

my point is, use the jeep trans and t case for a little 4x4 and it really simplifies the swap. not cheap, but time is saved in a big way. those guys have a ton of expertise to keep you on track for a build plan...

I've seen an old Jeep Wrangler that had a Cummins 4BT in it and it added a little bit of weight, but other than that it worked fantastically. Anybody know how tough it would be to bolt a 4BT into a Ranger and/or what trannys would bolt up to it?

Thats what Im talking about. Not to much but not to little of power. Thats one thing that is hard to find is an engine and tranny combo that work and still be 4wd plus have the transfercase side drop you need when doing a diesel swap. But if it is a 2wd your doing this to, not nearly as difficult i wanna say.

i actually posted this in here for you:icon_thumby:

I like it... too much hoopla about it being diesel though... big VW sticker, TDI on the doors, DIESEL on the fuel cans... cool thing though, I kind of want that for my Ranger...

he needs to sell a 3000 dollar product to install a 7000 dollar engine....it was a sema event and needed attention.

the sick part of this, is the 6.5 is a drop in swap for a jeep, though it wont equal the economy of operation of the dub motor and the dub motor is more suited to a commuter ranger...

there has to be some irony here:icon_confused:

What they are wanting is a diesel swap that is eco-friendly too. But that in itself costs big bucks. The Jeep is a born wheeler and with this swap, you can do it eco-friendly too plus have more power.

Everything is Jeep this Jeep that these days. But I guess when you can open a catalog and order stuff to pimp out your Jeep, is that whats called "Its a Jeep thing"? If so, they can have their Jeep thing.

Plus if your going to mod. something such as what was done and want everybody to notice, your going to put it on a Jeep.

Myself, hell Id be happy with a 353 detroit under my hood, economy enough I wanna say?

not a tough swap at all the engines are readily available in old frito vans (step vans) and we picked one up for a grand in running condition then scrapped the van for 1100 bucks since it's all aluminum.Advanced adapters makes the tranny adapter needed then a little fuel tank and pump work and the truck performs like factory

Hmmm...I must do this. Not with my Ranger, but with something less...expected. Maybe my '66 Beetle? I see lots of custom fabbing in my future. :headbang:

and factory frito lay vans suck as far as nvh is concerned and rattle the alternator brackets off all the time:thefinger:....not to mention looking in the rear view mirror will make you dizzy:D

HPA knows wassup (but that video was stoopid...can i see it running?). As a closet VW guy, I approve of this swap. Also, a small truck like a ranger would be fantastic with a 4cyl diesel! Aren't there diesel B series trucks in over seas markets?

I was thinking just the other day to keep it simple and put the 85-87 Mitus. diesel under the hood. They are still made and can find parts for them plus can be modded heavely.
