Gun porn!! remington 700 VTR limited

Wicked sweet!
I've been looking at the Rem 700sps .308
see i want to make big holes in little things from far away

Make big holes from far away? Maybe you should invest in a 50cal BMG Barret.

A 30-06 does a good deal of damage to a CO2 paint ball canister. 1st shot, clean through. 2nd shot, bullet exploded on the inside, taking a chunk of the back end out with it. 3rd shot, grazed the inside wall, but did not make it through.

Heres is my Rem 700:

Deer hunting spot. This is an old photo with the Bushnel 4-12x40 scope

Current little collection. Top is the Rem 700 CDL 30-06 with Pentex 3-9x40 Gameseeker scope, middel is a Crosman 1000 FPS with a 1x30 red dot scope, bottom is a S&W 629 Classic 6.5" .44mag.

Sights on the Pentex gameseeker. I know the picture is slanted, but its hard to balance everything at once and still able to get the camera to focas.

Pertty! My first gun was a 700 CDL in .243. They are great guns. Congrats on it! Now lets see some groups!

I have a leupold mark II on my savage and it appears to be in the same class/quality as the nikon. also the nikon was in stock and a mark II in matte finish wasnt. if all was right i'd be using a zeiss optics scope or a Dr. Martins from switzerland. as far as the nikon/leupold argument i dont know who's the clear cut winner yet. Im going to hit the range on monday and get it broke in and sighted in. we'll see about these plastic gears C_note speaks of coming out of focus every 10 rounds.

this very topic was discussed in my brother's gunsmithing class between nikon and leupold scope. all leupols scopes have metal gears and some nikon scopes have synthetic gears.

as for coming out of focus every 10 rds, that me be a harsh exageration.

now my problem is that i bought some cheap ass aluminum bases which will cause problems as well. what a waste!

I found out about cheap scope rings on my Marlin 60 .22. I could not figure out why my aim was bad. Until I saw only the forward ring holding the scope. The ones on my Rem 700 have been good. And the scope has been good too. Nice, sharp, crisp adjustment knobs. But I also don't go shoot 300 rounds through it like I do with the 22cal, maybe a box of 20 or two.

ya, i got a brand new remington 700 right out of the box from my brother. he was supposed to build it for someone and they never gave him the cash. since the rifle he was working on for me wasnt finished in time, he just gave me the 700. ive never even shot it yet.

i bought some weaver bases which are 2 piece instead of the sturdy on piece and some weaver rings. i thought weaver was supposed to be pretty decent but when i took them out of the box, i noticed they where aluminum.

i've seen the 2 peice weavers. i wasnt a huge fan of the 2 little baby screws on each little aluminum chunk. Thats why i went with the deadnutz once peice base and ring set. there more money but hell buy it once buy it right

LOL, (army thing) you have 9 rounds to sight in your weapon. 3 rounds, then adjust. 3 more rounds should be on zero 3 rounds for confirmation. All shot groups within the size of a dime. Lets see target pics.

i dont think im good enough with this gun to put 3 shots into a dime. the gun may be. but i dont think i am.:icon_thumby:
