guage flinches

When I turn my key to the on position, sometimes my tach. guage needle flinches. It just jumps up about an 1/8 inch. Should I be concerned about this?

Not unless there is some smoke associated with the jumping...

I had a problem with an alternator once and the guages started acting funny just before the alternator finally blew...

Did you wire the tach yourself or was it factory installed? If you did it yourself, make sure the ground is properly fastened...else...make sure the ground is properly fastened from the factory install...

Its stock, I talked to a friend of mine who is a mechanic and he said it happens and its probably fine.
