Ok so heres my symptoms on my 93 Ranger super with 4.o and manual trans.

Recently swapped over to manual, switched out ECM and all

I had a problem with the starter not enguaging at first and so i took it out and cleaned it out really well and regrease what needed grease. Its worked fine for bout 2 months. Now having the same problem. Its not the battery becase it pushs out the pinion and gear and what not but gets caught and wont try and spinn the motor.

My oil Guage today went sky high as well as temp guage.. I know that its not running with oil pressure half inch past the H in the guage nor is it running all the way to the H in the temp guage.. Should i replace all 3 the Starter, Temp sensor and Oil Pressure sending unit? and if anyone else has had this problem let me know what you did to fix it... It seems that when i hit the gas the temp sensor jumps up a lil bit and when i get off it drops back down. The oil pressure guage does the same thing. Im goin out right now to check my connectors and pull my cluster and make sure my connector on the back isnt loose... If you got any ideas or feedback let me know PLEASE!

Are you using a starter for a manual tranny or did you use the same starter that was on your automatic? They are different.

switched the starters out. They dont look the same FYI but yes i am using the one from the Manual explorer.. I just cleaned up my terminals and tried to start it.. it seems to be helping but now its raining and the battery died. I think that was my problem. I always forget to check my terminals, Had the same problem on Prom night. Did it again but it wasnt the starter it was the terminals... Could that also explain why my guages are goin crazy? i noticed that my battery guage kept dropping slowly on the 16 mile ride home from work and i thought that it may be the battery but its on charge right now and gonna check in the morning. I used battery protector and what not this time on my termianls, cables, connectors and wires so hopefully itll keep me from messing with the terminals every other weekend... UGH so annoying. Has anyone noticed that their gauges have gone off the chart when their battery was goin dead?
