off topic but does anyone know how the cuba jamacia area is doing? my parents are on vacation there right now and i havnt heard anything about that area but i know hawaii is on alert and its not far sure is closer then bc from i see and theyre on alert

they've got a continent between them and the wave....i wouldn't worry.

hawaii is in the middle of the pacific ocean,close to japan.

jamaica is in the carribean,which is part of the atlantic ocean.it would take a pretty big wave to cross that much real estate,the results would be biblical.

mine too.seems like there's been a lot of this going on the last while,i'm just waiting for it to be my turn.i'm about 6' above sea level.and in an active siesmic zone.

i'm impressed you even know about that one.they were trying some interesting things during that little scuffle in the middle of the last century.

I'm still confused exactly how the oiling and the fuel induction works. seems like that would be a bit of a challenge.

Glad to hear you're ok, last night was interesting listening to my dorm mates try to figure out where it was going to hit. the part they didn't understand was that it is technically a circular wave traveling in every direction.

According to the news reports I have seen, it didn't hit canada that hard... they even mentioned Haida Gwaii in the reports. interesting that they were reporting 8 foot waves in NorCal, we had nothing here in SD

My ol lady works on ASW base there on the bay, and she said at like 830, there were TONS of people outside, and in their boats in the bay, waiting for the waves to hit....

My cousin is stationed there and he said the hotel lobby was flooded and a road got washed out but thats it, He said none of the ships left the bay. He was living in Japan last year.
