I bought my 97 b3000 4x4 early this year the day I.got.it the clutch.went.out I started pulling the transmission but stopped after I got it off until a couple days.ago me and a friend put in a new clutch kit and slave cylinder put it back together tested.it and it was fine yesterday I drove it and.it has a metal on metal like.grinding noise all gears except 4th we drained out the old I'm.pretty.sure.original transmission fluid it.had quite a bit of metal flake in it but I figured for original fluid probably.normal refilled it and same issue... pretty sure I need a new or rebuild transmission but how long do y'all.think it will last like it is

Did you install a new pilot bushing/bearing? Does the noise go away when you let off the throttle or when the clutch pedal is depressed?
