well once again my truck is idleing high i had this problem over winter and am about to go on a 600 mile trip here in a couple of days. i have cleaned my iac twice and i assume thats not the problem and i do not have an air intake leak is there any ideas. next there is a faint grinding noise i have noticed lately. i can mainly hear it if the windows are up and the music is off. i hear the grinding noise/scratching when i accelerate slowly to moderatly(im a teen i usualy dont even do this i have a 4.o i like to show power) it seams to come from the trans area and possiably flywheel and motor. and it is def coming from center of the truck not driver or passanger side. any ideas on that?

p.s. also if the windows are down il hear it when i accelerate but for only a split second.

check your ujoints. maybe the iacv is bad?.........have you done a tuneup? check the ect sensor?

yes i have done a tune up it consisted of coil, wires, plugs, and belt i believe it is the iac or the tps. now the grinding i know the sound of u joints going out and it was nothing close. i know the noise has to do with the motor or the transmition or some where in between
