grinding noise

I swapped my 01 trans out and put a used 03 trans in my ranger and now i hear a grinding noise. everything matched up and fit perfectly had no problems whatsoever till i started it and hear this noise. sometimes it does it when you first start it, other times you can start it and then give it gas and makes the noise again. anybody know what it could be ?

its an auto trans 4x4 from a 2003 ranger, and tried to drive it, and it does absolutly nothing, but grind

torque converter issue, sounds like to me

When you installed the new trans did you make sure the Torque converter was seated in the pump all the way? You do that by turning it and pushing in on it till you feel it drop in and click.
