Got a ? I was wondering if anyone knows if you can put a grille from a 89-92 on to an 88 and older.

Not without a lot of mods. Even though the generations look similar they front clips are very different.

U basically need to swap the whole front end, with fenders and hood.

The body is wider and the bodylines are completly different.

The hood and headlights are the same as a 2nd generation Ranger and the grilles will swap with a 2nd generation... but otherwise the Explorer is completly different.

I beleive the grille of a 1st gen Explorer grille would fit where a 89-92 grille would go. I've seen One. and I think it was a STX or GT. I'm not entirely sure.
