Id like it more if it was black and had better air flow.

At this point, it's not so much a "grille" as a "plug". It's also going to have an effect on the airflow around the truck (incresed wind resistance), thereby affecting your gas mileage. With it in the current form (as in the pic), you're now "pushing" the air with the entire front end of the truck. With a more open grille, some of that air gets through, doing the cooling thing with the radiator, etc.

Not only the engine cooling issue, but if your truck has A/C, it will have to work harder to do its job due to the restricted airflow over the condenser. Your truck has a manual trans, so the cooling of tranny fluid isn't an issue....but the overall underhood temp's gonna rise a bit.

If it were me, and I was dead-set on using DPaluminum for this, I'd lay out some rectangular holes say 1.5" x 3", and cut them out. Space them out....at least 1/2" apart....to retain the DP "look" (some of the raised ridges would still show in places).

Plus, the rectangular design of the holes would keep more in flow with the basic look of the front-end of your truck.

But....that's just my .02 on it.

I'd suggest using the already existing holes to make slits, lets in me air and still leaves larger spaces of the metal as opposed to continuing to drill evenly spaced holes.

ok got it done not perfect but not bad for using a jig saw ' drill ' files and it don't run hot at lest not in 75 degrees if it dose get hotter and overheats i have a fan i will put in it to fix it then

Good work there. I'd smoothe the edges out a bit and even it out, but the slightly imporved airflow and a fan should keep the heat problem in check.

I'm still not too sure about airflow but as far as chrome or black, If it's aluminum, I'd chrome it by just polishing it and getting the oxidation off.

I'd say though, it'd look much better with a stocker..Even better if you could find a billet

i just went and put the fan in it today i didnt want to take to chance of it overheating ran it for 10 miles and it stayed a 190 so im happy with that that all that maters

I might Get that Metal in Black, and Line it up with my stock one and mark it out and cut it out so its the stock airflow but with a different look.

Black all the way. The black trim goes well with the diamondplate. Just polish up the grill.

Personally I'd paint the grill black as well, but I seem to emulate Batman in my ride's color coordination lol

Paint it all black and leave the smokes on the lights. That would look best.
