Has anyone used expanded metal or perforated metals as a grill on the Ranger? any ideas on if it will be enough air flowing to the radiator.

If your are using it to replace the gille on your '92, the factory one is way more restictive that a peice of expanded matal. Even if your using it as a back ground filler for the factory one it wont effect air flow enough to over heat (on perforated it will depend on the percentage of opening)

Look at all those guys that install those Stainless Grille inserts that just have slots cut into a peice of polished Stainless sheet, I've never heard of any of them haveing a problem. Unless you live in Arizona or New Mexico I can't see it posing a problem.

I guess I should check where you lived first. Look around and see what grille mods other people in your area have done and ask them if they have overheating problems.
