Gremlin?

Yep, the only car I know of that could have a 4, 6 or V8. most Ive seen had the inline 6, 232 or 258 c.i.d. The 4 was a 151 I think.

Nope. This baby was that way too...

This 1977 Chevrolet Monza is a Cure for the Everyday Hot Rod

The new silverado/Sierras can be has 4/6/8

Foxbody mustangs could too.
Mustang II's had 2.3's, 2.8's, and 302's available from 75-78, no V8's were offered in 74. Starting in 79, fox bodies could have a 2.3, a 2.8, a 200 six, or a 302. The 2.8 didn't stay long, I think because the 200 was cheaper to build and didn't have solid lifters to adjust. In the early 80's they started offering the 3.8 instead of the 200/3.3 and it worked good but they never offered a stick behind it. 3.8's had problems when they changed the coolant flow path for front wheel drive cars but they worked great in rear drive cars and weighed about 6 lbs more than a 2.3.

Chevy did that with the Monza. My Grandmother had one with the V8 and complained about the fuel mileage it got quite a lot. It was about the same size as the Gremlin and a lot less ugly. Her’s was silver.

I didn’t realize a monza could come with a V8. Ive seen one but just thought someone swapped it in, like all the V8 pinto’s Ive seen over the years.

The Monza got a 262 V8 and a 350 would bolt right in. The engine mounts needed to be unbolted and the engine lifted to change spark plugs.
