Hi y'all.

I just bought my first pickup truck. A 1994 Ranger XLT. With a 5 speed. Woo! :D

I joined after doing much research, figured this was the most mature looking board.

On to the truck - It's got some issues, mainly that the wipers don't work ( I get a click, but no motion. Also, the PO broke that grooved head off the wiper mount... so theres that too ) It needs a new rear tire, and has a crack in the windshield. On and a broken orange marker lense. he wanted 800, I paid 6 and a quarter. ( I thought I did good. >.> )

Anyway, it's late, been a -long- day..but I figured joining this and learning how the forum works would be a good thing to finish off the day with.

It's :beer:thirty now.

Welcome
Your in the right place to find the info u need to get the truck fixed :icon_thumby:
Hope to see pics and progress in the future.

Nice find. Hope you can get it going good :) As for the corner light being broken, just save and get some clear corners and such while your at it lol. My truck was in a front end collision that i have to fix myself (insurance company would have writen off), so i figured while im doing it i would get clear lights and a billet grille :P

These are exactly the kind of replies I was hoping for. Fast too. Epic win. Pics and yadda yadda in the future. ( tomorrow, when I'm not dog tired. )

Oh yeah. That's a good point.. it's got an orange light in there anyway... Huh. I have a pick n pull style junk yard not far from me. Boo about insurance write off. At least you get to keep it. Pics and stuff tomorrow. Any common problems I should keep my eyes open for? The only thing I've noticed weird is it seems to jump and jitter if I go into 3rd too slow, and then get up on it. Like if you tried to start in 3rd.. or 2nd in some vehicles. And those damn wipers.

--Edit--

Didn't mean to instantly pop you with a novel like that, especially being a forum noob. >.>

Damn good find in my book, welcome to the forums. I love the pick-n-pull junk yards i could spend hours in one... oh I have. Pissed my wife off too she was like were the hell have you been? Getting dirty and finding parts! Best way to spend a weekend. Lookin forward to some project pics, take pictures of everything and make a build thread we love those!

um............................................... ok!
welcome! :icon_rofl:

Well, some of us are mature...LOL :icon_twisted:

Seriously tho.. There are a lot of great people here and a LOT of good info. You'll love it. So what Are your plans for your ranger?

Anyone who starts out with hi y'all Is good by me! Lol.

Plans? Wipers that work, 2 new tires in the back, plates, registration, insurance.
I hear Rangers are cheap to do aftermarket stuff too, but it's only 2wheel drive... so there's prolly not much I can do with it? If anything, I'd love to do a minor lift, nicer tires ( like some small General Grabber's or BF GR's AT's. ) It's gonna be a commute truck - I just want it to start, drive and what not every day, and I'll consider myself quite pleased.

Y'all have been great too. It's nice to find good people still. :)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ <<<< Hehehehe. Immaturity makes life fun at times. :D

I think it was a good find. I'm not a great mechanic, but it seemed a bit too good to pass up, especially considering my 5 week vehicle search. It's very nerve racking keeping 800+ in cash on hand. :/

I'm hoping I don't have to spend much time in a junkyard on this one. I'm gonna do an in-depth photo-log tomorrow, many pictures.

Actually there is a boat load you can do to it depends on your budget. Prerunners are in style.

Oh man.. I wish. Yeah, basically no budget to speak of. I've been laid off for almost 2 years now ( Former Apple employee ) and living in NWI doesn't help that much. :annoyed:

Alright - So I like Flickr, so that's where these ended up. All my pics are public there, totally legit, safe for work yadda yadda disclaimer for linking off site so on and so forth. ( of course, if this isn't how it's supposed to be done, lemme know )

That said - the 625 dollar Ranger XL.
