Being from the planet Louisiana (it's a totally different world here!), I'd like to say Hello to "you all". Got my user name from my speciality in the military. But, it gets wierder (spelling?): from my avatar, you can see I'm in the process of re-doing my 1936 Ranger XLT (yep, '36 Ranger!). Don't have any more pictures on the TRS forum--still trying to get adjusted to all the forum stuff and buttons.

P.S. up-dated the avatar 'till I get enough brains cells working to use photobucket.......

welcome to TRS. interested to see what the '36 ranger is...

Na nu ~ na nu...

pics would be great...that avitar is so small...when I first saw it I thought you were sitting in an airplane with no fuselage...

Good point.

I've been searching for a while to find a company that used to advertise in the Hemmings book. They made fiberglass bodies of '40 Fords (with extended cabs!) that bolt onto the Ranger chassis. I can't recall the name of the company and I can't find it on the internet.

Maybe I have an old copy somewhere.

Doorgunner,
Had a friend in Nam that for fun on the week-ends would go out and volunter as a door gunner for some of the S. Korans in their helo-copter gun ships. He is still crazy

I also looked for that site but seems like one place has the '36' body style in three different lengths to fit what ever truck you have. If I only had the time and money! Mayby for the spare Ranger I have?

Thanks for the welcome. You guys broke the code! Yep--visited beautiful, fascinating
Viet Nam for 1 & 1/2 tours. You also got the right site for the 1936 "Ranger" cab, MAC. I looked everywhere for a cab that would hold all my ole lady's suit-cases for week-end trips and settled on the site you mentioned (yep, they ain't cheap). You need a long wheel-base late '80's to early '90's for the 'glass super-cab, though. Pro's & con's, but it won't rust. Since I already had a great little Ranger, and I always wanted an early Ford, I started collecting parts as I got the money. That's my grand-son sitting on the chassis with the original drive-train. I'll give pic's a try. You guys got some great stuff on your trucks!

Doorgunner(already goofed up-I do not have permission.......)

Hmmmm....nice trucks...didn't see a price though...or do you have to fill out the form?

Mark_88, I fergot what the form contains, but the '36 pick-up site will send you a big stack of pictures and prices--maybe you have to fill out the form to get on the list? (I wanted to make sure the company was legit. so I drove there before I bought anything from them--Nam vets don't trust anybody further than they can throw a 105mm howitzer round). Even if you bought only the cab package, that would keep you busy for a while (wiring steering guages brakes wipers seats etc).

Thanks...I was never even in the military (physical reasons) and I share that distrust...I'd rather see a place in person and get a feel for them too...never tried to toss a howitzer shell either...but I would duck fast if I ever tried...

If you do decide to throw a How. round, throw it at least 16 feet ( it'd make a hole about 15 feet in diameter and 5 to 10 feet deep) and figuring in the angle of travel from the schrapnel, if you were laying on your belly, you'd have about 2" to spare (of course there's the brain concusion and busted ear drums to figure in too!) Any hoo, I figured even if I could get a New '36 STEEL pick-up cab, it would cost more than one made out of 'glass + bragging rights. I'll give posting pic's another try.

Looks like you're into the project somewhat...Like you've got the cab mounted...I like it!
